Southern Maine Junior Music Academy Final Concert
DUE TO THE FORECAST FOR THUNDERSTORMS AND RAIN THIS AFTERNOON, WE ARE MOVING THE CONCERT INTO THE CONCERT HALL. THE CONCERT WILL ALSO BE LIVESTREAMED. MORE INFO TO COME.
On the front lawn at Corthell Hall on the University of Southern Maine campus, families of summer campers will enjoy an outdoor concert band concert performed by the Southern Maine Junior Academy campers, directed by John Morneau. The concert will include a performance by the SoMMA Jazz Band, directed by Kyle Smith.
This seven-day program gives middle school-age instrumental musicians the opportunity for musical growth and development. All academy members participate in concert band, chorus, instrument sectionals, and small ensembles daily, and may also audition for jazz band. Academy members also enjoy free concerts performed by local professional musicians and daily recreational activities.
This concert is free and open to the public.
