An opportunity to discuss how your academic and personal interests, abilities, and values relate to career fields, no matter where you are in your exploration process. Our goal is to give you the knowledge and skills you need to make future career and life decisions.

The Career & Employment Hub office is located on the second floor of the McGoldrick Center for Career & Student Success, Suite 210, Portland campus. Appointments are also available virtually via Zoom or phone!

Who Can Make An Appointment for Career Advising?

Career Advisors & Peer Career Guides are available to support the career development of the following individuals:

  • Current Students: All currently enrolled students, including undergraduate, graduate, and certificate-seeking students, are eligible to receive full access to Career Hub services.

  • Alumni: Anyone who has completed a degree or certificate program at the University of Southern Maine is eligible for ongoing access to the services of the Career & Employment Hub. Individuals who attended the institution and did not complete a degree or certificate program are encouraged to utilize the publicly available online career resources.

  • Prospective Students: Individuals considering enrollment at USM may schedule a 15-minute meeting with a Peer Career Guide to receive an overview of the Career & Employment Hub.
