Certificate of Graduate Study: Culturally Responsive Practices in Education and Human Development
This 12-credit program can be completed through a blend of online courses and in-person courses on our Portland and Gorham campuses. In this interdisciplinary program, you’ll take courses through our Muskie School of Public Service, as well as our Leadership Studies, Occupational Therapy, and Social Work programs.
A focus on culturally responsive practices can be of particular interest to teachers, educational technicians, counselors, and leaders in education. Courses explore linguistics, counseling of multicultural families, and spirituality and religion.

Certificate of Graduate Study: Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician/Community (MHRT/C)
This 15-credit program is offered fully online.
The MHRT/C Certificate is required for work in agencies funded by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and many other human service organizations.
Many students pursuing their Master of Science in Counseling with a concentration in Rehabilitation choose to earn this certificate as part of their graduate studies — this can expand career options immediately as well as upon graduation.

Our self-directed Certificate of Advanced Study program can expand your career options and fulfill your requirements for Maine-state licensure and certification in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling.
The 30-credit program offers a blend of online and in-person courses on our Gorham campus. Our curriculum explores family systems, holistic counseling, play therapy, and substance abuse.
You must hold a master’s degree or higher in order to pursue this Certificate of Advanced Study. This program admits for the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
