Room 148 in the John Mitchell Center on the Gorham Campus contains a fully functional laboratory and ground station for cubesats. It is the hub for assembly, testing and communicating with cubesats at USM. The lab contains facilities for electronic assembly and test and measurement of cubesat circuits and subsystems. Additionally mechanical testing for vibration tolerance are available at the lab. Room 148 also functions as a communications hub for satellites and is equipped for receiving data and images from satellites as well as an uplink capability allowing commands to be sent to satellites in orbit.
