Emma grew up in both Santa Monica, California and Yarmouth, Maine, and spent a significant amount of time in Boston, Mass. before moving to Portland in 2016. She attended Yarmouth High School, and received her Bachelor of Arts from Boston University, graduating with a major in Sociology and a minor in Biological Anthropology. Emma later attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education, receiving her Master’s in Education in Prevention Science and Practice as well as a Certificate in Advanced Studies in Adolescent School Counseling.
Emma began working for USM in the fall of 2016 as an Academic Advisor, and started her role as Senior Associate Director for Early College Success in the summer of 2025. Emma considers herself an advocate for access and equity within the field of higher education, and anchors her practice in the USM mission to be “Student Focused Every Day.”
In her spare time, Emma enjoys exploring Portland’s restaurants and breweries, watching new movies at the Nickelodeon Cinema, and napping at home with her very sassy calico.
