Degree Progress and Auditing Coordinator
In 2022, Kiren celebrated his 10 year anniversary of being a member of the USM husky pack! He holds a BA in Media Studies with a Minor in Information & Communications Technology, 16′. Kiren’s desire to participate in the LGBTQ+ community at USM is what attracted him to the university as a student, where he worked as both a work-study student in the former Center for Sexualities and Gender Diversity and served as President for the Queer-Straight Alliance student group (2013-2015).
Kiren currently works in the Gorham Office of Registration and Scheduling Services and manages the Degree Progress Report tool on MaineStreet. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, taking walks, and playing video games with his wife Cara. The two met in 2013 at a QSA meeting and are both proud to be USM alumni.
Expertise
- Manages, maintains, and audits all aspects of the Degree Progress Report tool on MaineStreet.
- Assesses, recommends, and develops solutions to Degree Progress report issues.
- Processes approved requests for Degree Progress substitutions and exceptions.
- Assists to coordinate the submission of degree certifications from departments and dean's offices, the awarding of degrees on student's records, and diploma production as it pertains to the Office of Registration and Scheduling.
