Aja Sobus

Aja was born and raised in Maine and is a proud alumni of the University of Maine at Orono. She started working at USM in 2021, and has loved her time with the Husky Community. After high school, Aja spent some time in New York City studying theatre at Marymount Manhattan College where she majored in Theatre History and minored in Women and Gender Studies. Aja then transferred to UMO where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and a minor in Education. She is the Associate Registrar for Student Services for the Office of Registration and Scheduling services. In her current role, Aja manages all student support services within the scope of ORSS which includes overseeing the degree completion process, student record updates, the appeal process, academic forgiveness, and acting as registration lead for student facing services.

Aja is currently pursuing her Masters in Leadership Studies through USM’s graduate program.

In her free time Aja loves to listen to true crime podcasts, read mystery novels, take care of her plants, and spend time with her partner, Owen and their pug puppy, Kit.
