In this capacity, he is in daily contact with agencies and the general public by email, phone, and in person, answering questions regarding the certification process. He performs the first review of all MHRT applications and keeps track of where all applications are in the process. He maintains all certification records and serves as the Center for Learning’s webmaster.
In addition, he is a staff member of the University of Southern Maine’s Research Service Center. He is the Concur (travel portal) cost object approver (travel approver) for all Catherine Cutler Institute and Muskie School staff.
Scott has been with Muskie School of Public Service and Catherine Cutler Institute since 1998 providing administrative support in Augusta for the state’s adult mental health workforce.
In the winter, when a storm is approaching, people turn to Scott to find out if we’ll have a snow day due to his educational background.
Scott has been an active volunteer with Scouts America (formerly Boy Scouts of America) all of his adult life. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Matthews Museum of Maine Heritage in Union. He serves as a docent at the museum during Union Fair week.
