Research Interests

English Romantic literature and culture, the Anglo-American ghost story, and Post-Apocalyptic fiction.

Rick Swartz has been a member of the USM faculty since 1991, having previously taught at LSU. He teaches upper-division courses on English Romantic Writing and Culture, Victorian Gothic, Ghost Stories, Theories of the Uncanny, and Post-Apocalyptic Fiction. He has published on Romantic travel writing, Romantic autobiography, the history of copyright law, and the concept of the uncanny.
