Jamar Croom is a dynamic professional with a passion for data-driven insights and a dedication to enhancing health and well-being. He currently serves as a Data Infrastructure Manager at the Catherine Cutler Institute, within the Disability and Aging and Population Health and Health Policy program areas. With a robust background in both healthcare and technology, he skillfully navigates the intersection of data analysis, program management, and technical innovation.

In his role as a co-Principal Investigator for contracts with Gainwell Technologies and the State of Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services, Jamar spearheads a variety of data analytic projects. He leads a team of proficient data analysts, SQL experts, and application developers, working collaboratively to provide comprehensive technical analysis and data analytic support. Jamar’s leadership is evident from the project’s inception through to its implementation, where he actively engages with the development team, crafting code for quality measures, insightful reports, and innovative applications.

Jamar’s skill set encompasses a diverse array of talents, including expertise in SQL, C# and statistical programming, program evaluation, and database administration. With a background that spans project management and leadership, his contributions have been critical in healthcare claims analysis as well as healthcare quality measurement and reporting. His academic achievements include a BS and MS in Exercise Science from the University of Maine (Orono), as well as a BS in Computer Information Systems from the University of Maine at Augusta. He further holds a graduate certificate in  Applied Research and Evaluation from the University of Southern Maine.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Jamar finds joy in an array of pursuits. An avid trail runner, weight lifter, yin yoga practitioner, and basketball player, he’s dedicated to maintaining an active lifestyle. Additionally, he enjoys learning foreign languages and mastering the violin. Notably, Jamar’s innovative spirit shines through in his sports analytic platform, Ballerytics (https:\\www.ballerytics.com), where he combines his passion for sports with data analytics.
