Erin Crowly-Champoux

Erin Crowley was awarded a Ph.D. in anthropological archaeology at the University of Minnesota. Prior to graduate school, she completed her B.A. in history at Bates College and then lived and worked on Long Island in Casco Bay as a Community Planning and Development Fellow with the Island Institute. She has worked on archeological projects in Ireland, the Eastern and Midwestern US (NJ, ME, MD, MN), and Peru. Her dissertation examines the development of a dairying economy in the Late Iron Age to Early Medieval Period in Ireland. Her research interests include faunal analysis, the archaeology of food and foodways, and the relationship between community development and agricultural and political economies.
