Before joining the Catherine Cutler Institute in 2021, Kristina spent a decade working for the Maine Judicial Branch in a variety of roles. She recruited and supervised Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer guardians ad litem; developed and implemented child protection, family, and juvenile court policy to incorporate legal best practices; managed major federal grants; and managed the statewide court interpreter and communication accessibility program to improve access to justice.
She is committed to improving systems to better respond to underserved communities and has extensive experience creating and delivering thoughtful and effective training programs for judges, caseworkers, guardians ad litem, interpreters, mediators, court staff, and many others.
