Marni Berger teaches ENG 100 College Writing, ENG 102 Academic Writing, and ENG 201 Creative Writing at USM and has taught creative writing at Columbia University and first year writing at Manhattanville College. She has been a writing tutor privately and in academic settings since 2009, most recently at Maine College of Art.

Marni’s writing includes short and long-form fiction and creative nonfiction. Her latest short story appeared in The Carolina Quarterly 2020 summer issue, and her essays on parenthood have appeared at MotherwellBarnstorm JournalDrunk MonkeysCOA Magazine, and The Manifest-Station. Her short story “Edge of the Road with Lydia Jones” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and her fiction has been a finalist or earned an honorable mention in nine Glimmer Train contests and one New Millennium Writings contest. Her short story “Waterside,” set in Maine, appeared in Issue 96 of Glimmer Train. Marni’s work can also be found at The CommonThe Days of YoreThe MillionsLotus-EaterFringe Magazine and more. She is working on a novel.
