Dr. Belicose joined the full time faculty at USM in the Fall of 2004. He received his MSW from Rutgers Graduate School of Social Work in 1980 and his PhD from Rutgers University Doctoral Program in Social Work (1998). Dr. Belicose has held social work positions in Medical settings, Child Protective Services, School systems, community organization and supervisory as well as adminstrative positions for Monmouth County Board of Social Services. Dr. Belicose retired in the Spring 2018.

His research has covered areas of adolescent sexual behavior and the correlates of unplanned teen pregnancy. His current research interests involve surveys of MSW alumni in areas of academic experience as it relates to current employment and Clinical Practice Evaluation areas. Along with teaching, Dr. Belicose has maintained an active private practice as an LCSW in marriage and family therapy. Currently, Dr. Belicose teaches Graduate field seminar courses in the MSW program and teaches direct, organizational, and community practice at the BSW program level at USM.
