Rebecca Stearns joined the Catherine Cutler Institute at the University of Southern Maine as a Policy Associate with a focus on rural health and EMS. She is a member of the Flex Monitoring Team with an emphasis on community engagement and policy development.
Ms. Stearns worked in emergency medicine both as a caregiver and educator. Ms. Stearns has worked in both pre-hospital medicine and in-hospital. She has also developed curricula standards and programs for EMTs with a focus on patient advocacy and public health, including health promotion. More recently she has worked to ensure a diverse workforce by creating educational supports for non-traditional students.
