  • Resident Director, Robie-Andrews

Hi there! I’m Savanna Trombetta, the new Resident Director for Robie Andrews Hall on the Gorham campus. I recently moved to Maine from Atlanta, Georgia, where I worked at Georgia State University for about a year. I am originally from Palm Springs, California, but have had the privilege to live in a couple different states over the past five years.

I’ve worked in higher education since my sophomore year of college at California State University San Bernardino, where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences. I studied psychology, sociology, and ethnic studies as I worked as a student leader in academic advising and residential life. While working alongside several student affairs professionals and with some very special people, I discovered a passion for helping students grow as people and within their careers. Ultimately, I was inspired to pursue a graduate degree in higher education at the University of Kentucky. I picked up my life and moved across the country and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. In May of 2023, I received my master’s degree and wanted to do something I have always dreamed of – live on the East Coast.

From advising student directors to mediating conflicts and fostering a sense of belonging among residents, I believe the key to success lies in supportive mentorship and clear communication. As someone who values professional growth, I’ve had the honor of presenting and facilitating at various conferences, sharing my insights on student leader development and diversity, equity, and inclusion. In a nutshell, I’m on a mission to create an inclusive and vibrant learning environment that empowers students to thrive in all areas of their lives.

In my free time, I love to read, travel, try new restaurants, and binge-watch anything from Grey’s Anatomy and Dear White People to Queer Eye and Sex and the City. I don’t have any fur babies as of yet, but who knows what the next year holds.

Feel free to reach out or visit my office on the first floor of Robie Andrews. I love meeting new people at USM!
