Oliver is a 25-year brand communications vet who cut his teeth in corporate advertising and sharpened them in politics before settling into the role of brand builder for mission-driven organizations. A recovering consultant, Oliver created new identities for a broad array of clients including the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation, AFSCME, the Walton Family Foundation, Anera, and the Evergreen State College. More recently, he built the new brand at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine as their Chief Brand and Marketing Officer. Oliver graduated from Colby College and lived in Portland in the late ’90s before an extended walkabout in New York and Washington DC. He returned to Maine in 2015 with his family because he’s always known there’s no better place to find and sustain community. Now he’s using the power of communications at the Foundation to bring alumni and friends of USM even closer, empower students, and build a great university together.
