Liz grew up in Western Maine. She attended Wellesley College, where she received her BA in English and Italian Studies. After graduation, she began her career as a language educator teaching English in Sicily. She later returned to the US to earn her PhD in Italian Language and Literature from the University of Chicago, where she continued teaching courses in Italian language and culture as an Assistant Instructional Professor.
Liz began working for the University of Southern Maine in 2025 and works primarily with students in the departments of Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Linguistics, Music, and Physics.
In her free time, Liz enjoys travelling and exploring local beaches with her family, reading, cooking, and trying new restaurants in the greater Portland area.
