David Oliver Kasdan

David Oliver Kasdan is the AVANGRID / David A. Flanagan Endowed Professor of Sustainable Public Policy appointed to the Muskie School of Public Service in 2025. His work is broadly based in administrative philosophy and theories of governance, building off his dissertation work on neopragmatism. His publications have included works on administrative authority, disaster management, behavioral economics, research methodology, and social justice.

Originally from Ohio, David has also lived in California, Illinois, Texas, and most recently was a resident in South Korea where he was professor of public administration at the Graduate School of Governance in Sungkyunkwan University. He now lives in Jay with his family and some animals.
