Doctor Suleiman is an Associate Professor of Management Information Systems at the University of Southern Maine and Associate Dean in the School of Business. He started at USM in the Fall of 2002 and currently teaches Information Technology, Information Visualization, and Management Information Systems. Previously, he worked as a consultant for Cap Gemini, Ernst & Young in their Telecommunications, Media and Networks division. Prior to that (in reverse chronological order), he worked at the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs, St. Louis University, University of Georgia, and IBM. Currently, his main research focus is in the area of virtual teams.

The information systems program at USM is presently a concentration (15 credits in MIS not including BUS 345). Professor Suleiman’s goal is to expand this to a major (18-27 credits in addition to BUS 345) several years from now.

Outside the USM School of Business, he is a member of the Association for Information Systems, of the Association for Computing Machinery, and of the Oracle Academic Initiative. Professor Suleiman published articles in journals such as Informatica, the Journal of Information Technology Management, and the Groupware Report. He has also given presentations and performed the role of service reviewer at numerous national and international conferences.
