Sara Baird joins the Catherine Cutler Institute as a Policy Associate II. She holds a License in Social Worker (LSW) and has a B.S. in Child Development & Family Relations and Psychology from the University of Maine, Orono. She has served in key roles within Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), including Help Me Grow Maine and Child Protective Services, where she supported families through resource navigation, developmental screenings, safety assessments, and permanency planning.

Her approach in working with individuals centers empathy, communication, and collaboration — creating environments where individuals feel supported, informed, and included.

Outside of work, you will find her enjoying time with family and friends, crafting, gardening, and taking care of two very opinionated goats and one equally opinionated cat.
