Maria is a graduate student in the clinical counseling program at The University Of Southern Maine. She is interested in exploring what it means to be human and how individuals and communities thrive and find joy. She is curious about people’s stories and where they find meaning and resilience. Connection, movement, play, and mind-body integration are all topics that are important to her.

Maria has extensive training in yoga and mindfulness and holds certificates in holistic life coaching, yoga, and clinical herbalism. Maria also has a BA in Arts and Humanities from USM and considers herself a lifelong learner. In the realm of counseling she has taken courses in existentialism, experiential counseling, ecotherapy, mindfulness, person-centered, grief work, and polyvagal theory in addition to graduate coursework.

When not at the Counseling Center, Maria can be found in her permaculture garden, with her chickens, or covered in flour making a pie. She enjoys reading, thrifting, knitting, taking saunas and swimming in the ocean. Her happy place is a Maine back road with no one on it.
