Ashley McBreairty

Ashley is a recent graduate of the University of Southern Maine, with degrees in Theater and Psychology. Her time studying has paired to inform her design choices, utilizing human perception of color to influence her work. She now works as a lighting designer based out of the Southern Maine region with over 100 credits to her name. She has been working in theater since she was four years old and beyond her work in lighting, has a background in scenic painting, props mastery, stage management, acting, and musical theater. 

Along with her theatrical background, Ashley has been teaching for over five years, working with ages ranging from middle school to the college level. She has taught classes in theater, music, art, and American Sign Language. 

Since making her return to USM, now as faculty, she has taken on the role of Head Electrician and fellow instructor. She deeply values her time with the students of USM, wanting to ensure the best experience, education, connection, and collaboration when teaching. Her ultimate goal is to aid and inspire the next generation of theater creators.
