Tom Michaud began his post-secondary studies at the University of Southern Maine as a Music
major before traveling to Colorado for a Master’s degree and then to Chicago for post-masters study in Music performance. In Chicago, Tom worked full-time in IT while continuing his music career, most notably with the Chicago Civic Orchestra, one of the premier training programs for young professional musicians. Tom returned to Maine in 1999 to be nearer family and friends and remains active in music as a regular member of Opera Maine and the Portland Jazz Orchestra. In 2016, Tom returned to USM to earn a Master’s in Statistics and began teaching concurrently at Southern Maine Community College, and later at USM.
