Linda Vaillancourt is delighted to be taking on the Strings Techniques class at USM. She holds a degree in music education from the University of Southern Maine, as well as a Masters’ degree in viola performance from the University of Maine. She teaches orchestra, band, and classroom music to grades Toddler-12 at North Yarmouth Academy in Yarmouth, ME, where she also acts as VPA Department Chair. She is currently serving as the president for the Maine Chapter of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) and orchestra vice president for the Maine Music Educators’ Association (MMEA). She performs frequently as a violist in the Bangor Symphony, Maine Music Society, and several other area groups. She was honored to receive the Maine Music Teacher of the Year Award in 2018. Linda resides in Lewiston with her husband, Scott, and their three children.
