Prior to joining USM, Shelley served as an adjunct professor at the University of New England in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program, worked as the Clinic Manager for Hanger Clinic in Portland, and in clinical and leadership roles at New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland and Summit Clinic in Louisiana. As part of her work in prosthetic education, she has also lectured to other allied healthcare practitioners locally, regionally, and nationally.

Outside of the clinic, Shelley enjoys spending time with her family and taking advantage of the variety of outdoor activities Maine has to offer. She was a competitive cross-country skier in her early years and can be found enjoying a quick ski with friends or her faithful Labrador retriever, Clover, most winter weekends.
