Elizabeth (Liz) Guerdan initially joined the University of Southern Maine (USM) nursing faculty as a clinical instructor in 2014 and has been a lecturer since 2018. She holds a Master’s degree in Nursing – Educator track from the University of Southern Maine. Her career in academia includes expertise in simulation based education and is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator through the Society for Simulation and Healthcare. Elizabeth is currently enrolled in a PhD program in Health Professions Education specializing in Simulation at MGH Institute of Healthcare Professionals. Elizabeth is an intensive care nurse working in the cardiothoracic intensive care. She has worked in many acute care areas of nursing throughout her career including medical, surgical, neuro, and trauma ICU’s, ER, and telemetry. As a travel nurse for many years Liz worked in hospitals in Scotland, Australia, and various states across the US from Alaska and California to Massachusetts and Maine.
