Education
- Ph.D UNAM-CIGA in Human-Environmental Geography
I received my undergraduate degree in Plant Sciences at CWU, my MS (and Ph.D. ABD) in Interdisciplinary Ecology at UF, and my Ph.D. in Human/Environmental Geography from UNAM-CIGA. My research focuses on indigenous rights, common-pool resource management, and climate change mitigation, with an emphasis on forest management. I use novel approaches to multivariate analysis, looking at higher-order variance and simplification of models. I have experience teaching an array of courses from Spanish and Biology, to Wildlife Conservation, Research Methods, Human Geography, and Conservation of Natural Resources. My research areas of interest include Latin America, the Arctic, and Asia.
