Adrea Jaehnig joined the Disability Services Center in August 2017 as the Assistant Director. She works with students to determine accommodations and provides ongoing case management services. Adrea has her M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from the University of Vermont and has many years of experience working with students in higher education including residence life, LGBTQ student services, disability services coordination, and student affairs. Adrea enjoys working directly with students and establishing collaborations and connections with faculty and staff to create access and accommodations for students with disabilities. She is interested in learning how students incorporate their disability into their overall identity and sense of purpose in college.
Adrea and her partner Heidi Parker (faculty member in the USM Sport Management program) moved to Maine in 2010 and both love exploring the outdoors in Maine and New Hampshire. A favorite activity is hiking with their dogs Tucker and Sawyer. Stop by the Disability Services Center to say hello and to see cute pictures of their dogs and cats!
