Ashley is a USM grad who has returned to the university as a lecturer in cybersecurity and information technology. She started her career in K-12 education and quickly found herself back in the classroom to get her MS in Technology Education. From there she went on to become a Technology Coordinator for over five years.
Missing engaging with students, Ashley went on to Central Maine Community College where she spent 15 years teaching in the Computer Technology Department. She was also chair of that department for 10 of those.
Being interested in computer forensics and cybersecurity, she wrote a grant to begin a cybersecurity AS degree at CMCC. That grant allowed for the purchase of hardware and software for the degree. It also afforded the training necessary, and she acquired her EnCE – EnCase Certified Examiner certification as well as her GIAC-GASF Advanced Smartphone Forensics certification.
