Bennett Comerford his PhD from the Committee on the Study of Religion at Harvard University where he specialized in comparative studies and South Asian religions. His work focuses on the intersections of religion, literature, race, and coloniality in nineteenth-century Bengal.
Bennett has received fellowships for research and language study in Bangladesh and India through the support of the American Institute of Indian Studies, the Critical Language Scholarship Program and the Center for Human Rights and International Justice at Boston College.
