Beth grew up in Maine. She began working for the University of Southern Maine in 2002 and is currently an Associate Director of Advising in Gorham.
She works closely with the departments of Biology, Chemistry, Linguistics, Music, Philosophy, Physics, Theatre, and Women & Gender Studies. She has also taught Honors writing, academic and career development, and creativity learning labs at USM.
She attended The University of Maine completing her Bachelor’s in English and Studio Art in 1997 and a Master’s degree in Literature and Creative Writing in 2000. She holds certifications in the MBTI, Cliftonstrengths, Motivational Interviewing, and training in Nonviolent Communication.
She joined the USM BCB Center for Compassion Advisory Board shortly after its creation and has spent the past years humbly learning the powerful and challenging terrain of compassion work. This transformative experience has reinforced her commitment to expanding her experience and knowledge in order to share it with students and anyone needing support.
In her spare time, she enjoys painting, ceramics, spending time in her garden with her fiancé, collecting vinyl records, and playing with her dog Romeo.
