Chris Harriman

Chris began working for the University of Southern Maine in 1990 and has seen many changes at USM over the years. In 2004 she was nominated by colleagues and honored to win the Distinguished Classified Staff award. This award is given annually to a staff member who “demonstrates an outstanding level of knowledge and performance in support of the University and the greater community. The award recipient sets ongoing precedence of distinction in their field.”

Chris attended Southern Maine Community College’s Office Management program before being hired at USM. She is the Supervisor of Student Employees for the office, handles the website, the “Success TV” monitors in Luther Bonney, Payson Smith and Bailey Hall, and has worked in the Senate, the Union, and multiple committees.

She enjoys traveling, movies, yoga, and spending time with her family in her spare time. She also enjoys spending time with her dog and pursues her passion for animal welfare by working with German Shepherd Rescue of New England, the Cumberland County Animal Response Team, and various other animal rescues.
