Christen Eaton, originally from Brockton, Massachusetts, has been a dedicated member of the University of Southern Maine (USM) community since 2001. She currently serves as the Senior Associate Director of Academic Advising in Gorham, where she plays a key leadership role in supporting student success. Christen works closely with the USM School of Education and Human Development and the Maine Department of Education, advising students pursuing elementary education, secondary education, and K–12 teacher certification.

A proud USM alum, Christen earned her Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies with a concentration in Production and Design and a minor in Economics in 2009. She later completed her Master’s in Education in Adult and Higher Education in 2016. She also holds certifications in supervision and grant writing through USM Continuing and Professional Studies.

Christen is an active contributor to the field of academic advising. She has authored articles for USM’s Free Press and has presented at multiple regional NACADA conferences, sharing her insights and commitment to student-centered practices.

Outside of her professional work, Christen enjoys hiking, biking, reading, and creative pursuits. She has a particular passion for vintage finds and antique books; some in her collection date back to the early 1800s.
