Dana Dotson

Dana Dotson (she/they) is excited to apply her Clinical Counseling and Expressive Arts Therapy skills in collaboration with USM students along their healing journeys. Dana is in her final year of UMF’s M.A. in Clinical Psychology program, holds an Expressive Arts Therapy Graduate Certificate from MECA, a B.A. in studio art, and an End of Life Doula Certificate from UVT. She believes that being human is a messy, ongoing practice that is worthy of effort & support. Their approach to therapy is trauma-informed, intersectional, creative, and compassionate. She aims to help students effectively manage stress, maintain healthy relationships to self and others, integrate trauma and grief in healthy ways, and develop practical strategies for reaching treatment goals.

Left to her own devices, Dana enjoys aerial arts, grounding in nature, reading, singing, traveling, and sharing quality time with friends and family. They cannot resist dog snuggles or olives, and some of their heroes are Dolly Parton, James Baldwin, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
