Formerly USM’s Coordinator of Education Abroad, Emily recently transitioned to the newly established systemwide THOR (Tourism, Hospitality, and Outdoor Recreation) Institute where she serves as Program Manager.
Emily’s desire to pursue a career at the intersection of education and travel began with a transformative study abroad semester in Rome. From there, she led groups of students on cultural immersion programs throughout Italy, managed a student-travel company based in Chicago, and taught second grade in Nashville, earning her ELL teaching certificate.
Additionally, Emily is an adjunct professor in Tourism and Hospitality, teaching courses on Cultural Tourism and Group Tour Management, and currently pursuing her PhD in Public Policy with a concentration in Educational Leadership.
