Emma grew up in both Santa Monica, California and Yarmouth, Maine, and spent a significant amount of time in Boston, Mass. before moving to Portland in 2016. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Boston University, graduating with a major in Sociology and a minor in Biological Anthropology. Emma later attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education, receiving her Master’s in Education in Prevention Science and Practice as well as a Certificate in Advanced Studies in Adolescent School Counseling.
Emma began working for USM Advising in the fall of 2016 and is currently an Academic Advisor on the Gorham campus. Emma mainly advises students majoring in Art, Social Work, Engineering, and Technology. Emma considers herself an advocate for access and equity within the field of higher education, and anchors her advising practice in the USM mission to be “Student Focused Every Day.”
In her spare time, Emma enjoys listening to music and watching movies with her friends, exploring Portland’s restaurants and breweries, and lounging at home with her cat.
