Jamar Croom

Jamar Croom, PMP, is a data infrastructure leader with 20 years of experience in the academic and public-sector healthcare field. As Data Infrastructure Manager at the Catherine Cutler Institute, he leads teams responsible for the data systems, analytics, and applications used to support healthcare research, quality measurement, informatics, and reporting.

Jamar serves as a Principal Investigator on projects for the Maine Department of Health and Human Services and Gainwell Technologies. In this role, he sets project direction, develops staff, manages relationships with partners, and helps teams work through complex technical and operational challenges. His leadership style is grounded in clear expectations, shared responsibility, and giving people the support they need to do their best work.

Jamar brings a strong technical background to his leadership. He has worked in healthcare claims analysis, SQL and C# development, statistical programming, database administration, application development, and program evaluation. His recent professional development has expanded that experience into Microsoft Azure cloud administration and architecture. This combination allows him to work closely with technical teams while keeping projects focused on the needs of clients, programs, and the people who use the resulting data.

He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Exercise Science from the University of Maine, a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Maine at Augusta, and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Research and Evaluation from the University of Southern Maine.
