Dr. Beaudry’s research interests focus on high impact, classroom and leadership strategies, and how they relate to assessment literacy, assessment for learning (formative assessment), evidence-based practices, outdoor learning, and STEAMSS (STEM and arts and service learning).

Dr. Beaudry also specializes in research methods, especially mixed-methods designs, and has written a textbook, Research Literacy: A Primer for Understanding and Using Research (2016), His work on high-impact teaching strategies resulted in a book, co-authored with Dr. Stewart McCafferty, entitled Teaching Strategies that Create Assessment-literate Learners (2018). The book provides the research base and multiple examples of practices of high impact strategies of assessment for learning.

A high-impact strategy that Dr. Beaudry is passionate about is the use of visual thinking in teaching, learning and assessment. He co-authored a book about concept mapping and critical thinking in 2014. Dr. Beaudry completed a four-year stint as co-director of the Southern Maine Partnership, a regional collaboration of schools and the University of Southern Maine, and now teaches courses for the Master’s degree in Teacher Leadership, Educational Leadership, and the Ph.D. in Public Policy.
