Jon Calame is specialized in the fields of architectural history and historic preservation. His research has focused on post-war reconstruction of historic cities, and has been supported by fellowships from the American Academy in Rome, the Fulbright Senior Scholar program, and the MacArthur Foundation Research and Writing program. In 2009 he co-authored a book comparing five ethnically partitioned cities.
