Kendra Hansen is the Assistant Director of STEM Outreach. Her background is in audio engineering and technical event production/management, and has worked at multiple event venues across the state of Maine.

Kendra has been involved in STEM outreach activities for several years, having served as a camp leader for the Maine Robotics program (the predecessor to STEM Outreach) since 2015. She also has a great love for the FIRST LEGO League community in Maine, having organized and coached multiple community teams, ran a local off-season extracurricular competition, and regularly volunteers as a “Robotics Judge” at the Maine state FIRST LEGO League championships.

Kendra is also passionate about the “gamification” of learning, including its abilities to make learning more accessible, approachable, and enjoyable. She has helped to expand on STEM Outreach’s “Programming in Minecraft” course – a camp for ages 10-14 that covers beginner’s programming concepts and introduces the Lua, Python, and JavaScript languages, all within the environment of the ever-popular Minecraft video game.
