Liz Carlson is a director and dramaturg specializing in ensemble practice, new play development, and reimagining classical plays for contemporary audiences. Recent directing credits include the World Premiere of Richard Dresser’s 100 Years (Troy Foundry Theatre), As You Like It (Saratoga Shakespeare), and The Winter’s Tale (Curio Theatre). She has collaborated with companies throughout the northeast including Philadelphia Young Playwrights, Curio Theatre Company, Mauckingbird Theatre Company, Arden Theatre Company, Lantern Theatre, People’s Light (Philadelphia), Hudson Stage, Troy Foundry Theatre, Saratoga Shakespeare Company (New York), The Nora (Boston), Trinity Rep, Manton Avenue Project (Providence), The Public Theatre (Maine), and The Kenyon Review Playwrights Conference (Ohio). She has taught at Temple University, Kenyon College, Bates College and the University of Southern Maine. She serves as a dramaturg to several playwrights, choreographers, and devising ensembles.
