Makar Golosheykin, PhD

Makar Golosheykin completed his PhD in economics from American University in 2026. His
research focuses on unequal dynamics within the global economy, the political economy of
development, the history of economic thought, and the role of production networks in
international trade. In the classroom, Makar emphasizes historical, social, and political context
to help students evaluate what economic theories say and how they construct their arguments.
When he’s not working, Makar likes the idea of reading, exploring nature, and spending time
with friends and family.
