Maya Twombly

As Lab Manager of the Maker Innovation Studio (MIST), Maya oversees daily operations and supports students, faculty, and staff in integrating MIST’s creative technologies into coursework, passion projects, and STEM-related prototyping.

A 2023 graduate of the University of Southern Maine with a degree in Business Administration, Maya brings a strong blend of organizational skills and creative energy to the role. Self-taught in Fusion 360, they are passionate about making 3D printing accessible and not intimidating for newcomers. One of their proudest accomplishments is helping develop small-scale aquaculture models for the Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI). This project exemplifies their commitment to community collaboration and hands-on innovation.

Outside the lab, Maya enjoys photography, board games, playing tennis, and driving around with her chiweenie dog, Bean. Their goal is to increase engagement with MIST and empower others to bring their ideas to life through emerging technologies.
