M.A. in Public Administration

Instructor Davis has been instructing in the Leadership & Organizational Studies program at USM since 2007.  In addition to his teaching experience, he has held numerous leadership positions with for-profit businesses, non-profit organizations, and governmental agencies.  His professional background has centered on leadership in the outdoor industry, where he has held leadership positions with L.L. Bean, REI, Patagonia, Eastern Mountain Sports, and Stio Mountain Studios.  His leadership roles have been in the U.S., European, and Japanese markets.

A first-generation college student, Instructor Davis’ leadership and teaching interests include human resource management, employee relations and unionization, cross-cultural leadership, leading change, non-profit and government sector leadership, corporate social responsibility and sustainability, and entrepreneurship.

Instructor Davis is now retired from industry, continues to teach, and spends his time in Maine biking, kayaking, and skiing with his family.
