Nancy Smith

Nancy Smith, principal percussionist with the Portland Symphony, member of the Boston Ballet Orchestra, Timpanist of PORT Opera and the Portland Ballet, maintains an active performing and teaching schedule.

A graduate of the New England Conservatory where she studied with Everett (Vic) Firth and a Tanglewood Fellow, Ms. Smith has been a member of the Jacksonville Symphony, la Orcestra Sinfonica de VeraCruz, the New Hampshire Symphony the Connecticut Orchestra, and the Spectrum Percussion Trio. She performs regularly with Boston Lyric Opera and has over forty production credits with the Maine State Music Theatre.

A past president of the Maine chapter of PAS, Ms. Smith is on the applied faculty of the University of Southern Maine, the University of New Hampshire and Bowdoin College.
