Jennifer (Niffy) Allen

I’m Niffy Allen, the Assistant Coordinator of Recreation and Fitness at the Sullivan Complex on the Portland Campus. I’ve been in my current position since 2009, but started as an intern with the Lifeline Program, an Adult Fitness and Rehabilitation exercise program here at USM from 1974-2009, in 1985. I supervise our two weight rooms here at Sullivan and am also the personal trainer. I also supervise student workers who help take care of the exercise rooms, lead exercise classes, and do fitness assessments and fitness orientations for students and new members. I work with the Exercise Science department as a preceptor for the practicum and internship programs, giving them opportunities to put into practice the knowledge and skills they’re learning in their major. I live in Scarborough with my husband, our dog and two cats. I have two children who are grown and flown but live in the area. In my free time, I like to read, walk, bike, play the bagpipes and hang out with my family and friends!
