Patrick Kirby

Patrick brings a unique perspective to the Military-Affiliated Student Hub team, combining communications and marketing expertise with firsthand military experience. As a Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class in the U.S. Navy Reserve, He understands the transition challenges military students face and is passionate about helping them navigate university systems and maximize their educational benefits.

With over 10 years of experience in strategic communications, multimedia production, and stakeholder engagement, Patrick has developed strong skills in building relationships and connecting with diverse audiences. His background includes work as a Public Affairs Officer where he served as primary media spokesperson, as well as multimedia content creation and community outreach experience. He holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from University of Maryland Global Campus, an M.S. in Health Communications from Boston University, and an M.A. in Film and Media Arts from American University. Currently pursuing an M.A. in Leadership and Organizational Studies at USM, Patrick brings both academic perspective and real-world experience to supporting military-affiliated students.

When not working with students, Patrick enjoys exploring Maine’s outdoor opportunities and pursuing creative projects.
