Teresa (Terri) Plummer

Terri Plummer, Ph.D., is the Director of TRIO College Programs at the University of
Southern Maine. She is a three-time alumna of the University of Southern Maine,
holding a doctorate in Leadership; certificates of advanced graduate study in
Leadership, Leadership Education, Creative Leadership and Global Strategy, and
Organization Development; a master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education; and a
bachelor’s degree in English.

She is a member of the International Leadership Association, Maine Educational
Opportunity Association (MEEOA), New England Opportunity Association (NEOA) and
the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA). She has served as the Alumni
Chair and Conference Co-Chair of MEEOA and is a Gallup-Certified Coach and MBTI
Certified Coach. She has experience in grant-writing, teaching, curriculum design, and
project management.

As a first-generation, non-traditional college student, Terri understands the unique
challenges of TRIO-eligible students and adult learners and is committed to helping
students not only succeed in higher education but also thrive. She is a lifelong learner
committed to providing opportunities for all students to succeed, grow, and lead. She
loves it when she can mix leadership and learning to support others.

She is a wife and mother of four adult children, and a grandmother to a delightful and
energetic grandson.
