Faculty, staff, and current students: Are you looking for help with our external website, graphic design, email marketing, social media, photography, or public relations?
Originally from Houston, TX, Vanathi made the move to Boston to attend Northeastern University, where she earned a combined major in Business Administration and Design, with concentrations in Entrepreneurship & Innovation and Interaction Design.
During her time at Northeastern, Vanathi gained a full year of hands-on experience through two design co-ops — one of which brought her to Portland, ME. At The Roux Institute, she collaborated with several early-stage startups, providing creative solutions for a wide range of design needs. Her time in Portland left a lasting impression, both professionally and personally, as she immersed herself in the local community and culture and everything the city had to offer.
Beyond the classroom and real-world experience, Vanathi was a committed member of Northeastern’s Mural Club, where she explored her passion for public art and its ability to transform spaces and people. In 2021, she completed her first large-scale mural for The School of Rock and went on to contribute to numerous campus- and community-based murals, including installations, cross-club collaborations, and even part of Northeastern’s graduation events.
Outside of work, Vanathi enjoys thrifting (a hobby that began after moving to the Northeast), baking, long walks, and biking. After graduating, Vanathi took time to travel — exploring California, Canada, and New Zealand — before returning to Portland, ME in early 2025. She is excited to be back in the city and is eager to continue exploring Southern Maine and beyond.
